Important Announcement, 2/22/2012:

Announcement on Measles Concerns & Response - We are OPEN FOR CHURCH THIS WEEKEND!

With the recent outbreak of measles in Hamilton County we are being proactive to help keep your family safe. We are taking every precaution possible to protect the health of our church community. Measles is easily spread from infected individuals to people who are not immune. Please take this opportunity to place the health of your family first.

We will be opening the Babies and Preschool Ministry for this weekend. Please understand that we cannot assure that we are a measles free facility. We recommend that any child that has not been immunized stay home for at least one more week.

Our facilities are completely safe and sanitized; this measure is due to the person-to-person nature of measles transmission. In other words, per the advisement of the Indiana Department of Health, we encourage participation only if you fit these criteria:

  1. You are fully immunized (one shot for adults, two for children) or otherwise immune from measles (e.g., from contracting it in the past)
  2. You are healthy and not pregnant
  3. You are older than age six

WRCC Special Needs Ministry is a Christ-centered environment with a person-centered emphasis that enables everyone to focus on spiritual growth. We want everyone to have the opportunity to grow to be like Jesus.  Our Special Needs Ministry is for anyone, regardless of age, that may require any special accommodations while participating in the life of WRCC. We strive each week to reveal God and the love of Christ to everyone, regardless of what special needs they may have.

  • The mission: To partner with families in loving their family member with disabilities and helping them all have the ability to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Provide support to anyone with special needs so they can attend worship services, a bible study, an age appropriate service or serve.

We want to help
This ministry is designed to help special needs children and adults grow in their Christian faith as fully participating members in their church. The ministry aims to support those with special needs in all aspects of their spiritual growth including: worshipping, learning about Scripture, experiencing fellowship, praying and serving others. The ministry strives to help everyone with special needs connect with other members in their church as they seek to grow in their spiritual lives (rather than providing a program that is distinctly separate from the rest of church life). These goals are accomplished by developing an Individual Spiritual Plan for every person.  After the Spiritual Plan is developed, they will be surrounded by a group of special friends who help carry out the plan.

We want to bring hope
WRCC Special Needs Ministry is really about bringing hope to families. We desire to be a place for everyone to worship together. The Special Needs Ministry is dedicated to serving individuals of all ages with disabilities and their families. We recognize the value of each person, regardless of their physical or cognitive ability.
