Engage the Culture Weekend | November 14 - 15

The bible calls us to engage the culture around us and throughout the world. Every year we send teams abroad to meet the practical and spiritual needs of others in Panama, Kenya, Mexico, Ukraine, and the Republic of Georgia. We are celebrating what God has done thru our mission teams and asking you to consider how you can engage the culture. We want to lead you in a challenge to engage with the various cultures of the world as we share the Gospel. We have a full line-up of events throughout the weekend.

Guatemalan Outreach | November 14 | 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Engage the Culture by joining us for a cross-cultural experience without leaving the country. We will be helping to host the Guatemalan immigrants at Shepherd Community in Indianapolis. You don't have to speak Spanish. Just come with a desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus as we play games and do crafts with children, serve a meal, build book shelves and more. Adults and children alike are welcome to participate. Depart from WRCC Annex at 10:00 AM and return at 3:00 PM. If you want to work with children, please make sure you have filled out a background check available at Community Works or Global Expansion booth in the lobby.

Engage the Culture | November 15 | Sunday Services
We will be celebrating our Global Expansion ministries on Sunday morning. Juan Rodriguez, White River ministry partner in Panama, will share what God is doing there through the generosity of our White River family. Our Hispanic worship team will help us celebrate.

STORIES FROM THE FIELD | November 15 | 5:30 pm
This will be an opportunity to hear and celebrate how lives are transformed both on the field and at home as we "Engage the Culture." A time of refreshments, fellowship and discovering more about 2010 Mission Adventures will be held in the FLC.

Jr. High 30 Hour Famine | November 13-14 | Learn More
In connection with Engage the Culture Weekend, our Jr. High ministry is doing a Famine. For 30 hours, participants get a taste of hunger by not eating--something more than a billion people around the world experience every day. Students will eat breakfast on November 13 then fast for 30 hours.
