Womens Leadership Team

Peggy Smiley

Peggy has a husband David whom she has been married to for nearly 29 years, & 2 fabulous children & a daughter in-law. Amanda is teaching all day kindergarten in Charlotte, NC. Andrew is married to Catie, & they currently live in Vernon Hills, IL (a suburb of Chicago). He is attending seminary at Trinity University working on his Master's degree in Divinity. Catie is supporting their family by teaching 7th & 8th grade special education. Right now the grand children will have to wait.

Currently, Peggy is a part time pharmaceutical sales representative for GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals. She has been employed by them for 11 years. David encouraged her to get into the business as he is a District Sales Manager for GSK as well. Fortunately, they are in different divisions of the company. Their children lovingly tell people that their parents are both in the "drug" business.

The Smiley family has been attending WRCC since 1990, & have experienced many of the changes that have taken place. It has been awesome to see how God has worked in our body of believers. God has used Peggy in many different ministries over the years, but one of her passions is to teach the word of God. The inspired Word is one way that God communicates with us & is vital to our spiritual growth.

In her spare time (if there is any), Peggy likes to play volleyball, try to knit, go shopping, travel, & watch all of her favorite sports teams (Boilermakers & Colts). During 2008, decorating our new home has also taken up much of her free time. Guided tours are given upon request.

Sarah is excited to help women connect and deepen their relationship with God and others. She grew up attending Arcadia Christian Church and then was very active in the Purdue Christian Campus House. Sarah began attending White River in 2004 and married her husband, Jason at WRCC in 2008. They enjoy boating, reading, working and supporting the Boilers.

Sarah teaches second grade at Cherry Tree Elementary School in Carmel. Jason works as the Production Manager at Becks Hybrids. They have enjoyed serving as greeter, usher, SLT members, Bible study teachers and participants.

Debbie Marks

Debbie Marks and her husband Brian have been married for 30 years. They have 3 sons, Matthew, Erik and Nicholas. Matthew has graduated from Purdue and Erik and Nicholas are attending Purdue. Needless to say the entire family is involved in Purdue sports! They have been members of WRCC for 5 years. Debbie enjoys gardening, exercising and cooking for her family.

Debbie works 2 days a week for Pediatric Dentistry of Noblesville and has been a leader in Bible Study Fellowship for 8 years. Brian has his own construction and handyman business. He and Debbie have enjoyed remodeling their old farmhouse together. Debbie and Brian are on the visitation team, ushers, greeters and help represent WRCC at the Noblesville 4th of July and Holiday Parades. Debbie is involved in the Lite Hearted Ministry and a faithful participant of Walk Live. She is very excited to share her love for Bible study and wants to encourage all women to spend time in God’s Word every day.

Amanda Smiley

5 words to describe Amanda are easy-going, positive, funny, encouraging, and silly.  Amanda was brought up in a strong christian family, and grew up at WRCC since she was in the 3rd grade.  Amanda came to Christ at the age of 12 and was baptised at WRCC.  She graduated from Noblesville High School and received a BA in Elementary Education from Anderson University.  Her passions are, first and foremost, living for the Lord everyday, and growing in her relationship with Him.  Amanda loves to teach and the opportunity she has to invest in the students each year.  Amanda can't see herself doing anything else!

At WRCC she enjoys attending worship services, serving in the Jr. High Ministry, studying the Word with her small group, and being a part of the Women's Ministry Management team! Little Things in Life are coffee every morning, playing games, laughing and being silly, spending time with family and friends, watching movies, and listening to music. Favorite Verse is  "Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed , for I am your God.  I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."  Isaiah 41:10
