Imagine an authentic gathering of individuals who love God and others. They are captivated by God's story, motivated by God's love for them, their neighbors, and the nations. They have genuinely been transformed by God's grace and love.
In the midst of an increasingly shifting culture, they choose to remain biblically relevant as they follow God's Spirit. They are grace givers, truth protectors, neighborhood enhancers, and risk takers that are broken and surrendered to Christ. They seek the lost, disciple the found, empower the poor, strengthen the weak, embrace the outcast, and bear each other's burdens.
They consistently remind one another that God's Kingdom is not about their own comfort or preference, but all about Jesus. They seek to simplify their lives so that others may simply live. Together they worship and serve, laugh and cry, play and live. Their world is different because God sent them. Through prayer and by God's grace . . . They are us.
Proverbs 29:18a (Amplified Bible)
"Where there is no vision, the people perish"
Envision a self-absorbed group of people who think only of themselves. They are entrenched in the past & have forgotten God's sacrifice for them, their neighbors, & the nations. Nothing noticeable has changed within them since the day of their conversion.
In the midst of a quickly changing world, they have chosen to be culturally relevant in an effort not to offend anyone. They are judgmental, politically motivated, empire builders, who are inwardly focused on their own personal agenda's. They search for the right demographic, do countless studies for personal enrichment, & even donate their used clothing during the holidays.
They read multiple books about multiplication & new financial strategies in order to finance their annual budget. They spend every nickel they earn on themselves. Together they attend church and live in quiet anonymity. Their community & world doesn't even notice that they exist. If we choose to be inwardly focused...They will be us.
