Some facts about Derek:
Family guy: Derek and his wife Janna have four amazing children. They love to go on bike rides, have barbeques in the back yard, and watch movies together. Their family has lived in Noblesville for 15 years. Their favorite snack to share together is a giant bowl of popcorn and apples. They are lovin' life together!

What inspires him? Seeing someone truly get excited about sharing God's love with the people of our community, living life on mission with Christ. Seeing people take their next steps toward Jesus Christ and lives changing for eternity!
If he wasn't a Pastor? You would find Derek behind a microphone somewhere doing color commentary for college basketball or football
Other places his talents have taken him? Derek was the color commentator for MIX 102.3 FM (Logansport, IN) for Lewis Cass High School basketball for 2 seasons
The college years: Derek graduated from Ball State University with a B.S. in Marketing in 1994. He also is a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University with a Masters Degree in Ministerial Leadership
In a previous life: Derek spent his first 7 years after college in the business world in the fields of telecommunications and orthodontics
How he stays on top of trends & developments in the industry? Immersing myself into the life of our Noblesville community has been the most productive way to figure out where God is moving, where we need to be, and where the most immediate needs are among the people; Going to where the people are!
What is His specialty? Serving others in Jesus' Name & Equipping Christ followers to share their faith with others
What you can thank he & his teams for? Faithfully getting outside the walls of the church and into the community where people need to see God's love by the way we live, love, and serve
The best thing about working at WRCC: You are really valued as a family member; there is definitely a team approach to the ministry and every person is considered an important piece of the journey
A typical day in his life: The Outreach ministries are ever changing day by day, but we are praying & trusting that God will show us and lead us to where He wants us to go; It's very exciting to find a God moment in the midst of the ministry!
Most likely to be when Divine inspiration hits? On the mission field serving side by side with my brothers & sisters in Christ, while reading God's Word, listening to a song, or watching a movie; God speaks in ways I could never imagine!
What is your best advice for aspiring pastors? Always be faithful and obedient to what God is calling you to do, no matter how many obstacles may come. Go to places you do not know & live by faith when you get there. Invest in the people you serve beside. Listen to God through His Word & prayer. Be confident & remember who you really are...a child of God.
