Five words or phrases to describe Corey: Music/Movie snob, competitive, energetic, coffee lover, a big kid

Where he learned his stuff: Corey was brought up in the church by his parents, Pat and Jackie, who were and are very involved in the church. He accepted Jesus at the age of 10 and was baptized by his father. Corey received his BS (Bachelor of Science....nothing else) Degree from Cincinnati Christian University in Biblical Studies and Youth Ministry.

How does he stay on top of the changing culture of Jr. Highers? I'm on Facebook constantly....doing research....yeah, that's it....research.

What are some of his gifts and talents?  I love to teach.  Whether sermons or leading discussions, I love being able to tell students about what Jesus has to offer them.  Also, I have beaten Tony Hawk 3 on PS2 in 34 minutes.  That's right...

What makes him laugh? The church staff, old people, and farts (Jr. High guy...come on)

What's on his iPod?  Avett Brothers, John Mayer Trio, Ryan Adams, Adele, Lecrae....and oh so much more

His pet peeves: Disrespect of National Anthem/flag, animals dressed as humans, tardiness (cough*Micah Beckwith*cough)

His greatest fear: Not accomplishing what it is that God has put me here for...and needles

Favorite TV shows:  FRIENDS, The Office, Modern Family, SportsCenter

A typical day in the life of Corey Willoughby: Wake up and make coffee; study/quiet time, journal; SportsCenter; head out the door to church; find coffee; find out what needs to be done and try my best to accomplish it; look for ministry opportunities and more coffee

What are his dreams for the future?

  1. That this ministry will prepare our students for life in the following ways:
    • Help them understand why we believe what we believe
    • Provide and equip them with the information needed to share their faith with others
    • Equip them with the knowledge to teach others
  2. To accomplish great things for the Kingdom

If he didn't work at WRCC: Would be exploring the world of School Bus Figure-8 Racing

What is Corey's secret ambition? To become a photographer for National Geographic.

What is his passion? To get students excited about God.

What he's done for other churches: He was a Youth Intern at Kenwood Heights Christian Church in Louisville, KY and participated in worship band at First Church in Burlington, KY.
