Israel, Messianic Outreach
Dugit Messianic Outreach Centre is an evangelistic outreach centre located in the heart of Tel Aviv. The word 'Dugit' means little fishing boat, like the ones used by the disciples on the Sea of Galilee. Today, we are 'fishers of men' in the heart of Tel Aviv!
'Messiah' is the Hebrew word for 'Anointed One', which in English we often translate as 'Christ'. A Messianic Jew is simply a Jewish person who believes that Yeshua (Jesus' Hebrew name) is the Messiah, the Anointed One sent by God to bring salvation to the world. To be a Messianic Jew is to have received Yeshua as Saviour and Lord.
Dugit functions as a coffee house outreach centre, where Israelis can drop in for a chat over a free cup of coffee. It is a safe, friendly environment where they can hear about Yeshua the Messiah.
Dugit is also a base for street outreach and a resource for evangelistic materials.
Dugit opened as an outreach centre in 1993 and hundreds of Israelis have been exposed to the Gospel through this vital ministry.
- A Messianic Coffee House Outreach Ministry - in the heart of Tel Aviv. A pleasant and comfortable atmosphere for one-to-one evangelism over a free cup of coffee.
- A Base for Ministry and Outreach Efforts - into the city. Groups visiting from around the world use Dugit as a base for street evangelism and outreach to downtown Tel Aviv.
- A Resource for Messianic Materials - in various languages. Dugit provides a variety of tools for evangelism and resources for building up the body of Messiah. Many materials are given free to unbelieving visitors, introducing them to Messiah.
- A Place for Local Believers - to gather for fellowship, discipling and encouragement.
“My heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved.” Romans 10:1
Prayer has always been considered a high priority in the life of Dugit Messianic Outreach Centre and its leaders. We have a prayer group that meets every Shabbat before our the Adonai Roi Congregation's weekly worship service, focusing on interceding for the congregation, lifting up the leaders before the Lord and welcoming the Holy Spirit to come and minister to the people.
Our desire is to see many come to know Yeshua as their personal Lord and savior, be discipled in the word of God and truly come into an intimate relationship with Him. The prayer group is open to all congregation members as well as visitors that speak with the prayer leader ahead of time.
