Important Announcement, 2/22/2012:

Announcement on Measles Concerns & Response - We are OPEN FOR CHURCH THIS WEEKEND!

With the recent outbreak of measles in Hamilton County we are being proactive to help keep your family safe. We are taking every precaution possible to protect the health of our church community. Measles is easily spread from infected individuals to people who are not immune. Please take this opportunity to place the health of your family first.

We will be opening the Babies and Preschool Ministry for this weekend. Please understand that we cannot assure that we are a measles free facility. We recommend that any child that has not been immunized stay home for at least one more week.

Our facilities are completely safe and sanitized; this measure is due to the person-to-person nature of measles transmission. In other words, per the advisement of the Indiana Department of Health, we encourage participation only if you fit these criteria:

  1. You are fully immunized (one shot for adults, two for children) or otherwise immune from measles (e.g., from contracting it in the past)
  2. You are healthy and not pregnant
  3. You are older than age six

MOVE 2012

On a hillside thousands of years ago, a Rabbi spoke words that are still as radical today as they were the day they were delivered. Be perfect. Love your enemies. The meek will rule the world. These red letter words demand everything. And each was lived out to perfection by the Rabbi himself.

But what if these words weren't just clever maxims but the calling cards of kingdom workers? MOVE 2012 will bring the Sermon on the Mount to life and examine these words that changed everything. It's where the Rabbi becomes a king. It's where his followers become new people.

It's where heaven and earth collide.

What is move?

MOVE is a 5-day high school only event held all over the country, designed to amplify the call of Christ on students lives to become Kingdom workers.

Located on college campuses across the nation, Move provides a program for 25,000 high school students every summer. Students are challenged through intense, interactive worship, dynamic preaching, small group study, and communitybuilding.

Students at MOVE not only learn and worship together but also spend quality time with their church youth group, discovering ways that God will use them to be a greater help to the world.

Move is more than just another conference or camp. Move is an experience! It’s an all-inclusive event providing food, lodging, recreational activities, and an amazing program. As an adult leader, Move will guide you through leading your small group each morning by providing materials specific to each days lesson, prior to the event. Following the event, Move curriculum is available and ready for your purchase. The curriculum will take your students deeper into Move’s theme for 8 more weeks.

Move doesn’t want students to leave on a spiritual “high” that dies as soon as they get home. We strive for students to go Beyond the Event by committing to become Kingdom Workers. Cards with challenges for the upcoming year are handed out on the last day of Move and students are encouraged to commit to completing those challenges, no matter how difficult they may be. MOVE Dictionary

D-Groups

Discipleship Group, or family group. This is the group of students you will be with for the week's activities.

Encounter Time

Following the Morning Session, students and leaders are dismissed to Encounter Time and Small Groups.  This creates an opportunity for them to participate in devotions that are tied to the daily themes.  The devotions can be found in the Student Magazine.

Extended Recreation

This is an opportunity for youth groups to enjoy an extended afternoon of free time.  Many regions offer a wide array of activities to choose from such as hanging out at the beach or white water rafting.

Kingdom Workers

A Kingdom Worker is a Christian who uses whatever sphere of influence he or she has to proclaim the message of Jesus. Kingdom Workers include school teachers, moms, high school basketball players, bass guitarists, doctors and a countless list of others. Their ministry may look different, but they have each surrendered to Jesus, and are committed to using their gifts, abilities and relationships to advance his Kingdom.

Morning Show

The Morning Show is designed to wake students up through funny videos, engaging interaction, and whatever crazy ideas MOVE can come up with.

MOVE Station

The MOVE Station is the place to purchase MOVE apparel and check out books and resources!

Skip-A-Meal

Once during the week, MOVE asks everyone to skip-a-meal.  The money is used to help fund MOVE’s International Conferences in places such as India, Ghana, Costa Rica, Philippines, Myanmar, and others.

Small Group Material

Material for Small Group Time is provided online before Move begins.  Small groups are extremely important at MOVE.  The Move team works all year developing lessons and material that will equip you to lead your small group with excellence and confidence.

Student Magazine

The student magazine is a book given to each student and leader who attends Move.  It is filled with information about Move and CIY, devotions for each day, and other pages just for fun!  This book will guide your group through their week at Move.

Super Electives

We give students the opportunity to encounter Kingdom Workers, hear Biblical truth taught and be exposed to some great Christian practices during elective time at Move.  Electives are offered on a range of topics to provide ample opportunity for further discussion.

The Alternative

MOVE provides an opportunity for students to share their talents (singing, instrumental, bands, skits, poetry, comedy, etc.).  Students sign up for limited spots and perform on the main stage.

The Next Level

This is an option for graduated seniors.  The Next Level is an in-depth Bible study taught by the Morning Speaker while everyone else is in Encounter Time.  This is a great opportunity for them to get an inside glimpse of each day’s theme, ask questions, and be challenged in their faith.

Youth Group Time

Each night after the Evening Session, each group will get together to talk about the day and pray together.

Special AWAKE Service
awake

There will be no AWAKE service at 10:45am on Sunday, June 17. Instead, we invite everyone to attend this special service to share testimonies and experiences from the MOVE conference. Family and friends are welcome!

If you have more questions or would like to discuss anything about the trip, contact Justin Fluhr, High School Pastor, at jfluhr@wrcc.org.
