Men's Ministry:

Why take the time? With everything that goes on in my world...your world, why would we take the time and effort to put together a "men's ministry"? To do events, a weekend study or weekday study, small groups and more? Now, I could lay down a bunch of statistics about how when a guy is coming to church, over 90% of the time his family is coming with him (verses about 17% when just a mom is coming). I could talk about how guys need to feel that they belong, they need friendship that isn't forced, they need time in their weeks just to be guys. But my reason, (this is "a" reason, not the "only" reason) is simple...it's a blast. I actually enjoy being with the guys, drinking coffee, talking about life, sports and yes, Jesus. Saturdays are something that I really look forward to (and I HATE mornings!). I can't help but think that if we point our hearts and minds toward something that is Godly and Christ-like, we will become more like Jesus. That's my prayer.
