Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat is Baby Zone? Baby zone is for our nursery age children here at WRCC. We have four rooms dedicated to our babies, newborn to crawlers, crawlers and toddlers. We staff our rooms with loving volunteers and show the love of Jesus not only to the babies, but also the parents. What is Zoo Zone? Zoo Zone is for our preschool children here at WRCC. We have seven rooms dedicated for children two years to five years old. Each age has a designated classroom. We staff our classrooms with loving volunteers that are prepared to teach our little ones about Jesus and how much He loves them. How many classrooms do we have? We have a total of thirteen rooms for our children newborn to five years old. All classrooms are open from 8:15 am to 12:30 pm. What curriculum do you use? We use God loves Me, CRC publications, for our 2's & 3's. We use Story Hour, CRC publications, for our 4's & 5's. What is the ratio for children verses volunteers? Babies and Crawlers are 3:1, Toddlers and Two's are 4:1, and Three's, Four's and Fives are 5:1. How do I volunteer and as a parent, do I have to? You will need to fill out a volunteer application, available in the children's office area. We strongly encourage you to volunteer in the pre-school ministry. It is a great opportunity to share in the spiritual growth of your child and the others in the classroom. How are the volunteers screened? Every volunteer must complete a Volunteer Application, secure three references, and sign a consent form for a criminal background check to be run. We complete national background checks on all volunteers who work every week with the children. How will you get me if my child needs me? If your child needs you at anytime during the service we will contact you in the following ways. If you are in the worship center we will have you child's number from the name tag appear up on the screens at the front of the worship center. If you are in another part of the church serving or volunteering, you would have placed that information on the sign in sheet and/or you would have taken a pager and we will page you. How do I check my child into and out of a classroom? When parents drop their children off, they receive a numbered security tag. Their child gets the corresponding numbered tag clipped to their shirt. The parent must present the correct security tag to the teacher at the end of the hour in order to pick up their child. We also use the security tag number to page parents from the service if their child needs them during the hour. What happens in my child's classroom during service? We will provide a bible lesson, a craft, a snack and playtime during each service. The snack of the day will be displayed on the check in counter for your information. Each Sunday your child will receive a take home story card to build a Bible book over the course of the year. Binders are available at each counter for the take home cards.
