Important Announcement, 2/22/2012:

Announcement on Measles Concerns & Response - We are OPEN FOR CHURCH THIS WEEKEND!

With the recent outbreak of measles in Hamilton County we are being proactive to help keep your family safe. We are taking every precaution possible to protect the health of our church community. Measles is easily spread from infected individuals to people who are not immune. Please take this opportunity to place the health of your family first.

We will be opening the Babies and Preschool Ministry for this weekend. Please understand that we cannot assure that we are a measles free facility. We recommend that any child that has not been immunized stay home for at least one more week.

Our facilities are completely safe and sanitized; this measure is due to the person-to-person nature of measles transmission. In other words, per the advisement of the Indiana Department of Health, we encourage participation only if you fit these criteria:

  1. You are fully immunized (one shot for adults, two for children) or otherwise immune from measles (e.g., from contracting it in the past)
  2. You are healthy and not pregnant
  3. You are older than age six

Generosity at White River Christian Church

We have been truly blessed by the spirit of generosity in our church. The dedication and joy our members have helping others inspires us on a daily basis. We believe that generosity means sacrificing for the sake of God and others. Not only is generosity measured in terms of monetary donations, but also our members’ willingness to donate their time and talent. We find that when we give to others so that they may flourish, our hearts bloom as well.

Because of your generosity, we are able to have a meaningful impact not only within our own church, but throughout our larger community and world. Our responsible management of funds results in tangible, life changing events for people near and far. When there is a need, we are able to respond.

Thank you for your donation to White River. Your generosity is appreciated and is a blessing to others.

Why Give?

Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”  And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. As the Scriptures say,

"They share freely and give generously to the poor.
Their good deeds will be remembered forever.”

For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.

Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.

2 Corinthians 9:6-11 (NLT)

How Does My Gift Make a Difference?

Without the donations of members, it would be impossible for our ministry to achieve our many worthwhile goals. From a canned good delivered in our food pantry to a monetary donation funding a new school in Kenya, your gift has a direct effect on the life of a person in need. The more generosity we receive, the more generous we are able to be to others.

We hope that giving makes a difference in your life as well. A generous act not only affects the receiver in a positive way, but also the giver. Setting this example for our children sends this valuable message into the future.

With your gifts, White River Christian Church can remain the beacon of hope it represents to those who need it most. To see your “generosity in action” view the work of our missions below. Our reach extends beyond our own WRCC family and into our local, national and even global communities.

What Happens to My Donation?

The priorities that direct the spending at White River are broken into five "buckets." We use this bucket analogy to demonstrate how the money flows thru the priorities. All funds that come to WRCC are essentially poured into the first bucket, and the overflow continues to fill the rest of the buckets as funds allow. Each week all the funds are poured into bucket one and the remaining buckets are all filled until the funds are depleted.
