Send an email to Sherri - sstetnish@wrcc.org Tell us about her: Sherri is definitely a "people person" and loves to be around folks. Because of her outgoing personality and friendly smile she's always easy to find in the church office or hanging out around the Women's Ministry Counter. She is a blonde and does have some of those moments, but don't hold that against her. Her heart is open to God's plan and she enjoys serving Him in her current capacity of Office Manager and Women's Ministry Director.
A little bit of her history: She grew up in Enid, Oklahoma and attended Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Yes they do have schools there and the dirt is red!!!
The men in her life: Sherri was married in 1972 to her best friend, James (everyone else knows him as "Jim") and they have 2 sons and two daughters (in-law). Jim is the Vice President of Fleet Operations at Carter Express, Inc in Anderson. Justin was born in 1977, went on a football scholarship to Ft. Hayes State University and graduated with a degree in Marketing. Justin moved to Noblesville to be with the family, great news for Jim & Sherri! Justin found the love of his life, Kara and was married June 2005. Justin & Kara are happily making their home together in Noblesville where he is employed by Daystar Drilling and Kara is a Registered Nurse at Community North Hospital. They are the proud parents of Ava Grace who was born on April 11, 2008 (Yipee....it is a GIRL) and she is the prettiest little princess you have ever seen! Travis, their youngest son, was born in 1985, graduated from Noblesville High School in 2004 and is currently employed by the City of Westfield. Travis has found the love of his life, Ashley. Travis & Ashley were married on June 30th and have made their home in Noblesville as well. Ashley is also studying to be a Registered Nurse at IUPUI. Ashley's daughter, Bailey, is 6 years old, has been a great addition to the family, Sherri loves buying pink and has always wanted to have a granddaughter. Bailey has stolen their hearts and loves being with grandpa Jim and grandma Sherri. Jim & Sherri are excited to have these women in their family and have comfort knowing their two daughters are nurses and will be able to take care of them when they get old some day. Travis & Ashley are expecting a little one too, Harley James Stetnish on July 15, 2008.
The newest addition to the Stetnish family is her husband's father, Julian. Julian just celebrated his 101st birthday on June 8th. He is now making his home at the Stetnish home and is enjoying watching and experiencing life with both boys and their families and of course his bright spot is those precious grandbabies. Julian is transforming into a "Hoosier" instead of an Okie!!! Julian lived in Oklahoma all of his life until April 2008. Yes, you guessed it, he has many stories to share and if you want to hear them just stop by the house for just a few minutes and he'll tell you one. What she loves: Sherri loves to laugh and have a good time and enjoys visiting with everyone she comes in contact with and when you see her, she will probably be doing just that. Good times and memories are what she loves as well as shopping and finding bargains.
What she dislikes: Her pet peeve would be not having enough time to get everything accomplished that she wants to and she has a hard time telling anyone "no" .
Her dreams (past & future): Her dream was to someday work for the church using her gifts to do God's work and that dream became a reality in 2002. Sherri enjoys working in the office assisting the pastors and staff. Her dream some day would be to have an assistant for each pastor. She is also praying for the Women's Ministry to offer the best Bible study time for ALL ladies to come and be in God's Word. She dreams of the day that there is a big "coffee shop" at church where all the ladies can come together for study, fellowship time and for making those "friend" connections. Endless church space available for study and events, a bottomless budget and having time to get everything done would be her ultimate dreams.
What she excels at: Sherri has many gifts that God has allowed her to use in her ministry areas and the most important one is making folks feel welcomed and loved. Her ability to adapt in various situations has been a strong and steadfast character trait and proven to be vital in her position in the office and Women's ministries.
When she's not here: You may have to look fast... she will usually be out (weather permitting) with her family since they all have motorcycles and love to ride. She is sometimes known as the "biker chick".
Sherri is always looking for more volunteers in the office as well as the Women's Ministry area and loves the gratification of getting folks involved. If you would like to visit, to get involved and have some fun - don't hesitate to give her a call. |
