A little about Jay
He Grew up in Frankfort, Indiana…yes, he graduated a "Hot Dog". After High School Jay continued on to Cedarville College (now University) with a Church Music and Vocal Performance degree.

Growin’ up in church
Jay has sung in church ever since he can remember, his parents led him to Christ at age 6. He has been leading worship in churches as a profession since 1995.

Family business
Jay has been married to his wonderful wife, Shannon, since 1995. They met in high school at a singing competition for college scholarship at Shannon’s home church in Brownsburg, Indiana. He marvels at God’s grace as he watches his 3 girls grow, laugh and develop into who God has made them to be.

Singing Songs
Jay loves to sing, and during high school, the Lord showed him how that gift can be used to bring others to Himself. During the college years, the Lord impressed upon Jay’s heart how the Church desperately needs to get back to its first calling - to worship Him in spirit and truth. John Piper said it well when he stated that "missions exists because worship doesn’t". Jay enjoys experiencing the pleasure of God when His Church comes together and abandons themselves to Him in worship.

What makes him laugh
His three girls, his brother, and funny moments that totally catch him off guard…i.e. anything by Steve Carell or Peter Sellers (The Pink Panther)

What makes him cry
Injustice and suffering

Pet Peeves
Leaving the door open when the air conditioning is on, the Disney Channel…yes, he has three girls, and whining…yes, he has three girls

Greatest fear
Hearing the Lord say, "I could have done so much more through you"

So, why White River?
Jay wanted to work at WRCC because of the team dynamic that exists here, the presence that WRCC already has in the community of Noblesville and the leadership’s desire for authentic worship.

Passion in Ministry
To see from birth through adult a hunger to put a smile on God’s face with the lives of worship that we live and the corporate worship that we give Him each Sunday

If he wasn’t a Pastor
Jay would like to be a recording artist

Just having fun
Jay loves to golf, go to the beach, play guitar, write songs, travel, and Dunkin’ Donuts coffee

Secret ambition
To have a song(s) published and to record a nationally released album

What he thinks about the church today
There is such a tremendous opportunity for the Kingdom to advance today through the local church…the local church being each one of us totally surrendered to our Savior and His calling. There is no better way to demonstrate that surrender than a life that embraces Romans 12:1-2 – "Let them be a living and holy sacrifice – the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him."
