Steve Vincent | Elder
Tell us about him: Steve and his wife Sharon have been members of White River Christian Church since 1998. He has served as an Elder since May of 2003. Steve was born and raised in Indianapolis, moving to Noblesville in 1990. He came to know Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of 11. Shortly after that, his family ceased attending church so he did not get a chance to grow in his walk with the Lord. In his early 20's, he met a Christian man who encouraged him to attend church and became a dear friend. Since that time, Steve has been active in several Baptist churches before joining White River.
What he has done and continues to do for WRCC: He has lead music, taught Bible studies, participated in mission activities and trips, evangelized through home visits, and participated on building committees. In addition to his elder responsibilities, Steve currently participates on the praise team, co-leads a home group, and leads men's prayer breakfast.
What he cherishes: Steve has been married to Sharon since 1975 and has a son living in Delaware.
What he enjoys: Steve obtained his engineering degree from Purdue and remains an avid Purdue fan. He is retired from his job as Sr. Construction Manager at Clarian Health. He now enjoys traveling, including trips to Delaware, and seeking new opportunities to walk with and serve Jesus Christ. He also enjoys golf, hiking, bicycling, and camping. God willing, he and Sharon will stand on top of many more Colorado Fourteener's (mountains over 14,000 feet).
What he's done as an Elder: Since attending White River, Steve assumed several key roles prior to accepting the privilege of serving as Elder. He had responsibilities for the design and construction of the new worship center. He served on the pastor search team, which called Tim Brock to be our senior leader. As an Elder, Steve's heart's desire is to see Christians grow in their walk with our Lord Jesus Christ.
