Counseling

At White River Christian Church we believe in the helpfulness of Professional Christian Counseling. There are many issues in life in which people can benefit from the services of a person trained in the art of Counseling. A good counselor will listen intently, ask gentle probing questions, and help the individual focus on solutions or assist in developing life giving coping skills. All of this should be done from a Christian perspective in which the counselor not only has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ but also brings a biblical understanding into the counseling relationship. There should not be a judgmental attitude or condemnation but rather one that focuses on forgiveness, peace with God, others, and self.  God’s power of restoration and hope should be foundational in the counseling process.

Our Pastors at White River are not trained counselors but they do possess skills, training, experience, and a deep desire to help people in their personal lives. Our pastors can be contacted to talk about spiritual development as well as other personal issues or in times of crisis. If the pastor is not able to assist you, he/she will be glad to guide you to other resources including Profession Christian Counselors in our area.
