"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice." - Proverbs 31:8-9, NLT
God has given each of us as Christ followers some clear instruction in what He is calling us to in this passage. There are millions of people around the world who are being treated unfairly and don't have a voice to express their desperate circumstances, to express their need for God's justice. We have the opportunity to literally live out this passage and speak up for those who can't speak for themselves. To ensure that these children who matter deeply to God are treated justly and given the opportunity to become all our Lord created them to be. Our vision here at WRCC reminds us to "strengthen the weak". We pray that you'll join us and live out this vision as we take a Stand for Justice in our community and around the world.
Our new approach to this ministry will be driven by two major themes. Number one, we will attempt to create an AWARENESS of key justice issues that people face both in our communities and around the world. Number two, we'll seek to provide opportunities to take ACTION in a number of different ways as a response to what you may have heard or experienced.
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" - Martin Luther King
Even though we have our focus directed toward some specific issues we feel God has called us to respond to at this time. There are many other issues that matter deeply to God and should matter to us as Christ followers. Here are a few of those issues that we will strive to keep a pulse on throughout the year, bringing you stories on our Outreach blog and providing information on how you can take a stand for justice in these important areas as well.

This is the progress on the school in Community #2 in the slums of Nairobi. The foundation was begun last month and required additional reinforcement. "You are the body of Christ: that is to say, in you and through you the work of the Incarnation must go forward. You are meant to incarnate in your lives the theme of adoration -- you are to be taken, consecrated, broken and distributed, that you may be the means of grace and vehicles of Eternal Charity" - Augustine...
